We Started With One Question

Back in 2018, Miroslav was teaching weekend workshops out of his apartment. Students kept asking the same thing: where can we learn arcade game development that actually mirrors what studios need?

That question turned into Plannerx. Not because we had all the answers, but because we knew there was a gap between what education offered and what the mobile gaming industry wanted.

Today we're in Sofia, working with students across Bulgaria who want to build games people actually play on their phones during commutes.

How We Got Here

2018 – The Workshop Days

Miroslav had just left a studio job after shipping three mobile titles. He started running Saturday sessions for friends who wanted to learn game development. Twelve people showed up to that first meetup in a borrowed coworking space.

2019 – First Structured Program

Demand grew. We formalized the curriculum and ran our first 12-week course. Eight students finished and three landed junior positions within six months. Word spread through Sofia's tech community faster than we expected.

2021 – Elena Joins

Elena had been working in animation but wanted to pivot toward game UI design. She took our course, then came back asking if we needed help with the design curriculum. Her approach to visual storytelling completely changed how we taught interface development.

2023 – Mobile Focus Shift

The market was clear: mobile arcade games were what studios needed. We narrowed our focus and rebuilt the program around touch controls, vertical gameplay, and performance constraints specific to phones.

2025 – Where We Are Now

We've trained over 200 students. Some work at studios, others freelance, a few started their own projects. Our autumn 2025 program starts in September and we're already planning spring 2026 sessions based on what the industry tells us they need.

What We've Built Together

200+ Students Trained

Since 2018, we've worked with over two hundred people who wanted to learn arcade game development. Some were career changers, others were students looking for practical skills. Each cohort teaches us something new about what works.

Industry Collaboration

We partner with three Sofia-based mobile game studios who review our curriculum and sometimes hire our graduates. They tell us what skills matter and we adjust our programs based on that feedback.

Real Projects, Real Experience

Every student builds at least two complete arcade games during the program. Not tutorials or follow-alongs, but original projects they design and code themselves. That portfolio work has helped people get interviews and demonstrate capability.
